5 years since the first commercial release of Unigine
The first commercial version of Unigine engine was released five years ago, on May 4, 2005. With the release number 0.3, it had codebase size of approximately 10% relative to the current one. At that time, there used to be 5 people on board.

Testimonials

Here are some testimonials provided by people, who know Unigine technologies in action:

Clients

"We had the chance to work with different graphic and game engines, and Unigine is definitely the best middleware to achieve our objectives because of its features, its tools and its support. We are confident in that fact because we spent several months exploring capabilities of the technology provided by Unigine Corp. and performing thorough tests. Our project is currently on the early stage of development but every day of work proves that we made the right choice."

Ivan Cuevas, 3D Developer
Arisnova S.L.

"Working with the Unigine engine has been an inspirational yet fantastic experience. Lukewarm Media feels privileged to work with a support team as dedicated and motivated as the Unigine team. With Unigine's top-end visual rendering system and support they offer their clients, it's no question that Unigine will be a top choice for many developers in the coming years. There are a number of other exciting aspects to using the Unigine engine including (but not limited to) its support for DirectX 11, and being able to include the Unigine toolset and SDK for development of custom content and mods. Overall, Unigine is an engine that without doubt has the amount of power needed to get a dinosaur moving!"

Ashton Andersen, Producer
Lukewarm Media

"We found the engine handled very large scenes really well while maintaining great AA and light quality. We have been very impressed with the extensive feature list of Unigine also."

Steve Brodie, CEO
AI3D Pty Ltd.

"The Unigine team has always far surpassed my expectations when it comes to technical support, and communication (In English). Whenever my team had an issue, they were able to quickly, efficiently, and unobtrusively help us resolve the issue. Unigine was even able to provide support during odd hours, including weekends. This greatly increased my team's confidence with the technology and provided us with a solid base for implementing and creating our vision."

Cory Davis, Director of Development
SteamPunk Studios

"We were developing our internal engine when we discovered Unigine, which attracted us by its complete material editor and intuitive workflow. Because of our photorealistic approach to design and architecture visualization we decided to use Unigine technologies. The great power of this middleware will let PlaySys express its creativity, thanks to the rich set of features provided by Unigine."

Luca Deriu, Creative Director
PlaySys

" Its been about six months since we started working with Unigine. After a learning period, it has been a huge leap for the development of our project. Lighting, animation porting and simulation are a breeze. Our work is experimental, and contains complex scenes yet Unigine keeps stable.

The Unigine team has been very helpful in our process. Not only they have created useful documentation for their software, they are very available for e-mail consult.

The improvement of this software is constant. We eagerly expect the next version, as each one brings features that not only make our job easier but enrich it in ever unexpected ways."

"When it comes to OpenGL engines on the Linux OS, we haven't been able to find one that fully utilizes the graphics card as well as Unigine. Even using the most modern hardware, Unigine still takes full advantage of all available computing power and delivers jaw-dropping results. This is the most advanced real-time 3D engine we have seen on Linux."
